Valley Forge Pennsylvania

Located only a few miles from Philadelphia, Valley Forge reflects the history of the six-month encampment of the Continental Army of the United States under the command of General George Washington. Though no battle was fought here from December 19, 1777 until June 19, 1778, the soldiers struggle against the elements and low morale was overcome on this hallowed ground. Amoung the famous people who served at Valley Forge were Nathanael Greene, Alexander Hamilton, James Monroe, Benedict Arnold, Baron Von Steuben and Lafayette.
